Calculus: Early Transcendentals, Chapter 1, Review Exercises, Section Review Exercises, Problem 16

Use transformation to illustrate the graph of the function $\displaystyle f(x) = \left\{
\begin{array}{c}
-x & \rm{if} & x < 0 \\
\\
e^x - 1 & \rm{if} & x \geq 0
\end{array}
\right.$

The graph of $f(x) = - x$ is obtained by reflecting the graph of $g(x) = x$ about the $y$-axis.
Moreover, the graph of $f(x) = e^x - 1$ is obtained by shifting the graph of $h(x) = e^x$ one unit downward
