What is the Mission Statement of this article? Follow with an explanation as to why this mission statement was chosen. This is the article: The Vet 2 Vet program works to ensure that every participating veteran receives a mentor to help them navigate the system and any services they require by providing a mentor to act as a role model, advocate and ally. The program believes that peer-to-peer support are critical to the continuum of care for veterans and yield relationships intended to ease the transition from combat to civilian life. Vet 2 Vet provides opportunities for veterans to talk with trained peer supporters who can offer educational and social support, as well as provide avenues for additional help if needed. Having a connection with a fellow veteran can make a significant difference in the recovery process and overall well-being for both the individual and the mentor. For the individual, the program increases the number of social relationships, provides education to support positive coping behaviors and provides information on resources available beyond the immediate peer supporter. Peer supporters, in turn, can experience a sense of empowerment by helping a peer, while at the same time building their own self-confidence and strength. Mentors receive a three-day training on their role, the role of Vet 2 Vet and available community services. Training also covers the importance of ethical standards and when to seek additional assistance. Providing this important training to mentors, many of whom are already providing informal social support, increases the effectiveness of the individual providing support as well as increases the ability to identify a potential high-risk situation before a crisis event occurs. Vet 2 Vet supports the program by providing: • Screening for new mentors • New mentor training • Quarterly topic based training • Matching mentors with veteran • Support for mentor and available for additional services as needed

The purpose of a mission statement is to define an entity's purpose. It tells the world why it exists. For such a mission statement to be effective, it has to answer questions such as what the organization does, how it performs its task, who they do it for, and what value the entity provides.
In this regard, the statement, "The program believes that peer-to-peer support is critical to the continuum of care for veterans and yield relationships intended to ease the transition from combat to civilian life" answers these questions most adequately since it defines the purpose of the Vet to Vet program.
The program's goal is to make the passage from combat to civilian life easier than it would otherwise would have been. Second, the statement makes it clear that the program performs its task by using a mentorship strategy that provides peer-to-peer support.
Furthermore, it is apparent from the statement that the program serves the needs and interests of war veterans and that it also provides value by trying to ensure that such veterans assume normal lives, separate from those that they experienced during combat. In the process, the program identifies critical situations and deals with them. Veterans can adjust to their new roles in a peaceful society, away from the conflict in which they were involved.
Finally, the declaration more than aptly meets the requirements for a good mission statement because its wording is clear, concise, and unambiguous.
