Do you support Vera's act of playing a prank on Mr. Nuttel? Why or why not?

Mr. Framton Nuttel is an eccentric hypochondriac with an undisclosed nervous condition, who visits the country in hopes that he will be able to ease his nerves and rest his mind. Despite the fact that Framton Nuttel suffers from a nervous condition, Saki depicts him as more of a comical character than an object of sympathy, which makes Vera's ruse seem less cruel. Vera, who is only fifteen years old, cleverly discovers that Framton is a highly sensitive, insecure stranger, who knows nothing about her aunt or his surroundings. Vera proceeds to create an impressive story explaining why her aunt leaves their large French window open, knowing full well that her uncles will return from their brief hunting trip soon and walk directly through the window. Saki praises Vera's talent for "romance at short notice" and portrays her character as intuitive and "self-possessed." Vera's poise and creativity depict her character in a positive light, and the audience finds her ruse impressive and humorous instead of being cruel and mean-spirited. In my opinion, Vera's harmless prank is a comical tale and an amusing story, which is why I support her ruse.
