I feel that chapter 5 has the best evidence that taking the pill that subdues the "Stirrings" is a good thing. The section is near the end of the chapter, and it is when Jonas's mother hands him a pill. Giving the exact page number is possible, but I might have a different text version. In my edition, the page number is page 38.
The Stirrings are considered a problem. Problems are bad. Problems need to be solved; therefore, any kind of treatment for a problem is considered good and beneficial. When Jonas's mom hands him the pill, her remarks specifically mention that the pill is a simple and effective "treatment" for the Stirrings. Additionally, Jonas is reassured that the pills are a good thing because he sees both of his parents take the medication each morning, and he knows that some of his friends take it too. In Jonas's opinion, if those people are okay with taking the pills, then it must be a good thing.

Find evidence from chapters 1-6 to prove that taking the pill that subdues feelings is a good thing. Must state page number.
