Write the steps taken by UNO on world peace?

The United Nations takes several approaches to maintaining and peace and security. The United Nations Security Council, one of the main segments of the UN, is the primary branch responsible for working towards world peace.
The Security Council monitors areas with governments that oppose the UN’s pledge to maintain peace.  It is within the Security Council that peacekeeping missions are developed and peacekeeping forces are implemented. Through diplomacy, they aid in conflict prevention as well as mediation. According to Chapter VII of the Charter, the Security Council can take measures ranging from economic sanctions to military action in order to restore international peace. Often, the organization uses special envoys as well as political missions in the field.
Today, peacekeeping operations are called upon to protect civilians, assist in the disarmament of combatants, and promote human rights. The UN plays a large role in coordinating the global fight against terrorism. In 2006, they adopted the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, an operational framework against terrorism.
Other bodies of the UN, such as the General Assembly and the Office for Disarmament Affairs, work to eliminate weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear bombs, while regulating the flow of conventional arms.
