What are the advantages of using biofuel?

Biofuels are the fuels derived from biomass and are used as alternatives to fossils fuels. Biofuels offer a number of advantages:
Biofuels generate less greenhouse gas emissions as compared to the fossil fuels and are more environment-friendly, contributing less to global warming.
Biofuels are made from renewable sources, unlike the fossil fuels, and are practically unlimited. This means that they will not run out, unlike the fossil fuels.
The raw materials used for the biofuels can be grown practically anywhere, and they provide more energy-security to the countries that have low or nil reserves of crude oil.
Fossil fuels, such as coal, contain sulfur and contribute to acid rain. Biofuels, on the other hand, can be produced in such a manner so as to have no sulfur component, which eliminates that particular component of the acid rain.
Biofuels may produce smaller amounts of particulate matter.
Hope this helps.
