According to Mary Wollstonecraft, in what ways were women disempowered and how might the subjection of women be resolved?

Mary Wollstonecraft was one of the first woman authors to be seen as feminist in her writing and in her practice. She wrote and published two polemics on the role of women in society, A Vindication of the Rights of Men and A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. One of her major arguments was that women were seen as useful only in the ways in which they could support men as wives or mothers. She also pointed out that in some cases women were part of the problem, such as the aristocratic women who did not use their influence and privilege, but instead conformed to a stereotype invented by men. Wollstonecraft believed equal educational rights were the key to solving the subjection of women. She also argued that women should explore personal experience as much as possible, which some have taken to be an argument for sexual freedom.
