Sherrena rents out properties to low-income individuals and families in the roughest neighborhoods of Milwaukee. Thanks to Belinda, a large part of her client base consists of individuals in receipt of SSI benefits, cash payments made to disabled people with limited income and resources. Belinda acts as a representative payee for SSI beneficiaries who can't manage on their own. Her client base is made up of those disabled enough to receive SSI but who aren't welcome in public housing. This is where Sherrena comes in. Because her clients can't access public housing, Belinda finds them places to live through Sherrena.
The business relationship between the two women is a win-win situation for them. Belinda gets to find properties for her clients while Sherrena is provided with a steady stream of tenants. And because Belinda guarantees their rental payments Sherrena doesn't have to worry about tenants defaulting on their rent. In turn, Sherrena can help Belinda deal with her clients' problems more quickly—such as emergency repairs or accommodation—and the quicker she can deal with them the more clients she can take on, and that means more money.
