Single Variable Calculus, Chapter 2, 2.3, Section 2.3, Problem 46

Given the function
f(x)={4x2 if x2x1 if x>2

a.) Find limx2f(x) and limx2+f(x)

For left hand limit

limx2f(x)=limx2(4x2)limx2(4x2)=limx24limx2x2limx2(4x2)=4(2)2limx2(4x2)=0

For right hand limit

limx2+f(x)=limx2+(x1)limx2+f(x)=limx2+(x1)limx2+(x1)=21limx2+(x1)=1

b.) Does limx2f(x) exists?
No, it does not exist because the left and right hand limits are different.

c.)Sketch the graph of f
