Who is the "Antagonist" and "Protagonist" in the book "The concubine"?

As the main character in which the reader experiences the story through, Ihuoma is the protagonist of the story. She's a widow who lost her husband in a land dispute with a neighbor. Wanting to honor his memory, Ihuoma watches over the land and her children. She struggles with being a widow, yet she is dedicated to caring for her family.
As the main opponent and obstacle for the protagonist, Madume is the antagonist of the story. He instigates a land conflict with Ihuoma's husband that eventually leads to his death. He then attempts to gain Ihuoma as a wife but is rejected. Antagonists tend to suffer from their misdeeds, which is the case for Madume as he loses his vision and hangs himself. This is seen as justice from the gods.
