The Abbot does not want to share his food with Frankie. How does Frankie feed himself before he starts his job?

Pat "Ab" Sheehan, "The Abbot," is Frank's uncle. He was dropped on his head as a baby, which caused him permanent brain damage. Nevertheless, he's still pretty good at counting the money he makes from his newspaper rounds. He lets Frank stay with him when things get too difficult at home, which is often. But there are limits to Uncle Pat's hospitality. When Frank accompanies him on his paper rounds, he treats him appallingly, refusing to share his food and money with him. Frank is reduced to foraging for food to keep body and soul together. He steals deliveries of bread and milk from rich people's houses, he steals apples from orchards, he receives damaged produce from local farmers, he helps at the markets on Saturdays, and he helps himself to leftovers from fish and chip shops.
