Determine the slope of the given graph below:



We can see from the graph that the line passes through $(2,0)$ and $(0,2)$. If we let $(x_1, y_1) = (2,0)$
and $(x_2, y_2) = (0,2)$, then the slope is
$\displaystyle m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} = \frac{2 - 0}{0 - 2} = \frac{2}{-2} = -1$
