How did Ponyboy and the greasers spend their time?

The Greasers spend the majority of their time hanging out, committing small crimes, partying, and fighting against Soc members. Ponyboy is different from the majority of the gang members and enjoys going to movies alone and reading literature. The other boys, particularly Dally, enjoy breaking the law everywhere they go. Towards the beginning of the novel, Dally, Pony, and Johnny sneak into the drive-in movie theater even though they have enough money to buy tickets. The Greasers also enjoy drinking alcohol, playing billiards, smoking cigarettes, and driving souped-up cars. When Pony and Johnny are looking for Dally, they end up finding him at Buck Merril's place, partying with other people his age. Dally and Sodapop also enjoy horses and the rodeo. They are attracted to exciting sports and have fun competing. The Greasers also enjoying hanging out with each other at Darry's home, in empty lots, or at the gas station, where Sodapop works. In the first chapter of the novel, Pony gives a brief description of the Greaser lifestyle by saying,

"Greasers are almost like hoods; we steal things and drive old souped-up cars and hold up gas stations and have a gang fight once in a while" (Hinton, 4).

Essentially, the Greasers spend the majority of their time hanging out, committing small crimes, driving cars, and fighting against the Socs.
