Victor’s creation convinces him to create a female companion. He sets up a lab in the Orkneys and begins his work. Victor has doubts about the new creation, imagining that it would be the beginning of a long line of monsters. In his distress, Victor destroys the new creation. The monster vows to revenge Victor’s actions.
Victor disposes of the remains of his creation at sea and decides to take a rest. His boat is, however, pushed to the shores of another town. He is received as a murder suspect when he lands and is taken to Mr. Kirwin. Victor discovers that the monster has killed Henry and he was being mistakenly accused of the murder. Victor falls ill and is briefly held in prison before he is acquitted.
After he is freed, Victor thinks about the monster and the threat that he would be at his wedding. Victor is scared for his life and resolves to fight the monster. He, however, cannot seem to get the thought of the impending confrontation out of his mind. The monster ends up killing Elizabeth, which leads to the death of Victor’s father. Victor devotes his life to finding and killing the monster that has caused him so much pain and misery.
