Anne is not the only one who is afraid of the sounds of the war, particularly at night.
In a humorous incident, Mrs. van Daan rushes almost into Dussel's arms during an air raid because she is so frightened.
All of the members of the Secret Annex show signs of fear to some degree, though this cannot be proven, since all the incidents are anecdotal and related solely from Anne's perspective.
Anne speaks about her fears directly, whereas the others's fears must be inferred by their actions.
Together they discuss what they would do if forced to leave their hiding place. This brings to light the anxieties of each character.
Dussel is constantly irritable and fussy; Mrs. van Daan openly shows her fear and is sometimes ridiculed for it. Peter escapes with Anne to the attic. Mrs. Frank and Margot display quiet, reserved fear, which is probably a representation of how Anne perceives their personalities in general. Similarly, Mr. Frank never displays fear openly, perhaps because he exists in Anne’s mind as the faultless father.
While Anne and Mrs. van Daan are the only characters to openly display their fear of gunshots, it is likely all the characters feel fearful.

Is Anne the only one who is afraid of the gunshots at night?
