How can we save Siberian tigers?

The Siberian tiger or Amur tiger is an endangered species of tiger, threatened by habitat loss, poaching, use of its parts in Chinese medicine, and lack of genetic diversity. Several efforts are underway to save these magnificent creatures. The population is slowly recovering from a low of forty individuals to over five hundred now. Part of the reason for this is that Russia granted the species full protection as an endangered animal, making killing any Siberian tigers or trading in them illegal.
Illegal logging is a major threat to tiger habitat and it can be protected by requiring certificates of origin for Russian hardwoods and imposing sanctions on illegal loggers and anyone exporting products of illegal logging, including furniture, sourced from illegally harvested wood.
The Center for the Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Tigers and other Rare Animals in Alekseevka, Russia is working on rescuing injured tigers and abandoned cubs and preparing them for release into the wild. This program has successfully saved and reintroduced several tigers.
On a personal level, one can support groups, such as the World Wildlife Fund, that help save tigers.
