Solve the equation 14=c23 and check
if your answer is correct.

14+23=c23+23Add 23 from each side(1)(3)+2(4)12=cGet LCD3+812=c512=c

By checking,

14=51223Replace the variable by the given number, 51214=52(4)12Evaluate the numerical expressions, then get the LCD14=581214=312Divide the right side of the equation by 314=14Compare the results

The results are same; Therefore, 512 is a solution of the equation 14=c23
