How is Bacteria helpful?

Bacteria are everywhere, and about 95% of bacteria are completely harmless to humans. This means that 5% of bacteria are pathogenic to humans, while the remaining portion are either helpful to humans or don't affect us in any way. I'll list out some ways that bacteria are helpful to humans.
Bacteria are used in food production. Products like cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, pickles, sauerkraut, and vinegar are all produced by using bacteria is some way.
Bacteria can be used in industry. For example, some bacteria are integral in producing drugs. Bacteria can also be used to clean up oil spills.
Bacteria can form symbiotic relationships with other organisms. This happens in humans. Human digestion is greatly aided by bacteria present within the body.
Bacteria are useful for decomposition of organic material. Bacteria that specialize in this kind of thing are called "saprophytes."
