College Algebra, Chapter 2, 2.4, Section 2.4, Problem 68

According to the manager of a weekend flea market, if she changes $x$ dollars for a rental space at the market, then the number $y$ of spaces she can rent is given by the equation $y = 200 - 4x$

a.) Sketch a graph of this linear equation. Remember that the quantities involved can never be a negative values.

b.) What do the slope, $y$ intercept, and the $x$ intercept of the graph represent?

a.)

b.) The slope represents the decreasing rate of number of spaces available as the rental charges increases. The $y$ intercept represents that there will be 200 spaces available if the space is free of charge. On the other hand, the $x$ intercept represents that if the rental charge reaches $\$ 50$, then there will be no more available spaces to be rented.
