To find the equation of the line that contains the point whose coordinates are (4,1) and has slope 32, first use the given point and slope to find the y-intercept of the line:


y=mx+bWrite the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line1=32(4)+bSubstitute 1_ for y,32_ for m and 4_ for x1=bSolve for b67_=b


The y-intercept of the line through (4,1) that has slope 32 is (0,7_).
